Long term commitments to Dhamma Sukha
Occasionally people ask us how they can support
us for our planned long-term development. United International Buddha Dhamma Society is the chief supporting
entity for Anathapindika's Park, Dhamma Sukha Meditation Center. Donations are made
directly to UIBDS, Inc.. While maximizing your personal financial goals and tax-wise estate planning needs, planned gifts are an effective way to make a contribution. If you would like to support our vision through estate planning, bequests and gifts of appreciated assets, these are some of the options you might consider.
Some types of planned gifts such as..
Bequests
You may designate a fixed amount in your will to be left to UIBDS,
Inc. upon your death. You can also gift the residue of your estate ~ that is, whatever property is left after all gifts and obligations have been satisfied. A bequest to UIBDS,
Inc. can be made by having your lawyer write a simple addition to an existing will.
Life Insurance
This is a way to offer a significant gift at a relatively low cost to yourself. You can contribute a life insurance policy, either by making UIBDS,
Inc. the owner and beneficiary of an existing policy or by purchasing a new policy in UIBDS'
name. You may receive a charitable tax deduction and also benefit UIBDS
in the future.
Retirement Plans
As your legacy, you might consider naming United International Buddha Dhamma Society,
Inc as the beneficiary of your retirement plan. This form of donation is gaining in popularity because it can be transferred tax-free to a non-profit organization. (Retirement funds left to individuals may be doubly taxed all are subject to income tax and, if the estate is large enough, to estate taxes as well.)
Appreciated Stock
If you own appreciated stock, one of the best tax advantages for a year of good investment return, is a gift to a charitable organization.
